Before setting off on your next adventure with your caravan, it’s crucial to ensure everything is in perfect order. Pre-Trip Checklist for Caravan Travel is designed to help you thoroughly prepare your caravan, covering both the interior and exterior, so you can enjoy a smooth and worry-free journey. Let’s dive into the key areas you need to check before hitting the road.

Interior Check

Curtains and Windows: Roller blinds open
Curtains and Windows: Windows closed in winter mode
Bathroom, common area, bedroom, kitchen: Ensure all items are securely fastened
Kitchen: Sink and stove covers closed
Kitchen: Remove any items that could shift during travel
Doors: Make sure they are in travel mode
Television: Ensure the TV holder is locked
TV, AC: Make sure the remotes are secured

Exterior Check

Covers and Connections: Ensure all service covers are closed
Disconnect the electrical connection
Check the antenna and water connections
Retract the legs and secure the caravan to the vehicle

Connection and Hitch Check

Hitch is fully locked
Security lock is working
Breakaway cable is connected to vehicle
Connect electrics
Make sure signals are working
Lift jockey wheel to traveling position

Notes

If the caravan has not been used for an extended period, ensure that all equipment such as heating, refrigerator systems is functioning
The water tank is empty to travel safely
